Manufacturer BEA Sensors • EVOLOOP

Barrier detection to configure for your site.

EVOLOOP is BEA's radar for opening, presence and protection at automatic barriers. Its virtual loops replace the in-ground inductive loop and are configured for site traffic. Control Access helps you choose placement, interfaces and the configuration to be quoted.

Benefits for your installation

  • Reduce road surface work — An alternative to buried induction loops for upgrading barrier detection without installing a loop in the ground.
  • Adapt detection to the passage — Up to three virtual zones can be adjusted separately according to loop type, target and traffic direction.
  • Simplify setup and monitoring — The EVOLOOP app supports learning and allows loop visualisation, parameter adjustment and access to diagnostics.
  • Link detection to other equipment — Presence signals can control a barrier or trigger external ticketing and number plate recognition equipment.

Applications

  • Car parks equipped with automatic barriers.
  • Paid access and toll barriers.
  • Vehicle access control with activation, presence and barrier protection to be configured.

Installation and protection conditions

Additional type D protection — BEA describes a level D protection function according to EN 12453. It must complement a system providing level C barrier force limitation; EVOLOOP alone does not guarantee installation compliance. BEA manual p. 2 ↗

Position and coverage to be defined on site — For protection, the instructions require positioning no more than 50 cm from the boom. The field must cover the barrier length and be adjusted for protection on one or both sides. BEA instructions p. 2 ↗

Commissioning and tests — Installation and commissioning are reserved for a trained specialist. The device's test input and checks must follow the manual; it specifies a test before every movement and, if the test input is not used, a check at least every six months. BEA manual p. 2 ↗

Power supply and environment — Provide a supply ensuring the double insulation required by BEA. Keep the front clear, avoid metal parts in its immediate vicinity and keep the surface clean; do not clean directly with high-pressure equipment. BEA instructions p. 4 ↗
